“Must you be so… damned depressing..?” Sora sighed. He pouted at her and crossed his arms. “Those who don’t play… poor me…”
“You say depressing, I say realistic.” She shrugged and smiled, rocking back and forth on her heels. “Life isn’t all about playing games.”
“I prefer to think of myself as a bat…” Sora chortled to himself with a sigh. “Oh, those cute little things…”
Sora waved a dismissive hand and turned back to Kairi. He slowly began to approach her; his feet moving in a slow, steady rhythm.
“Enough of that, though… Even angels have a dark side…”
“You certainly squeal like a bat,” she teased, smirking. “Are you as easy to crush, too~?”
She shifted as he approached, folding her arms over her chest. Everything in her expression read neutral, as if the whole affair was just slightly above uninteresting to her.
“There haven’t been angels here in a long time. Not real ones, anyway. Just the phony ones who wear their masks and think that it all means something.”
“Tch your not better than me! A Princess of Heart should not be swayed by Darkness.” She says crossing her arms with a scowl. “Plus I was asking how you turned like this… if your not a vampire what are you and how did you become like this.”
“A pure heart doesn’t make you better.” She smiled, eyes narrow and bright under the shadow cast by her tall hat. “Just different. As for me, well, I was born this way, hehe~ What makes you think I’m anything you aren’t, though? I mean, just look at me.”
She gestured to herself. The obvious darkness aside, there was no visible sign that she was anything but ordinary.
“Do I look like a monster to you?”
“Hmhmhmhm….” Sora shook his head at her. He grinned wickedly; his mouth stretching until the seams were close to breaking. “Girls are so whiny, though… Boys are much more fun….”
“But we’re so much more lovely and charming~!” Kairi reached out and patted his cheek, unfazed by the ripping of his mouth. “Besides, little boys cry and whine more than girls do. So insecure…”
Sora swiped at her hand playfully. He lifted his hands and curled it like a paw as he batted her hand away from his face, and then ran it through her hair.
“Now now, no need to be… jealous… I know I’m beautiful, but the world has enough hate… Don’t you think? Hmhmhmhmhmm….”
“What reason would a swan have to envy a hedgehog?” She laughed a low, melodic laugh, leaning against his hand. ”Your spines than mine are quicker for a fray, but my wings are larger though, to fly away~”
